Travel Technology - Speculations on new macbook and macbook pro during wwdc 2008?

I'm hoping the the macbook and macbook pro get an upgrade like the imacs.

I hope so too. Does this speculation have any evidence to it though? I need to get a laptop ASAP and don't wait for too long. But I want to buy the new generation because buying a previous generation weeks before the new one comes out is the worst feeling you can ask for.

My guess is that they won't be announced till fall. This summer is iPhone season.

I'm still hoping for a MBP new model at WWDC. I've got $$ just wainting for it, it will be the first time I buy without waiting, or getting from amazon - my MBP jones is strong at the moment.!

I haven't heard any rumours of MBP upgrades this summer. I'm personally waiting on the next Air revision. I love my MBP, but it'd be nice to have something lighter! I really just want an integrated optical drive as I don't really need more than one USB port.

Now the iPhone, that I am buying as soon as it's released in June. *drool*

I've read a couple of rumours that the 3G iPhone might be announced before WWDC. This would leave room at WWDC to unveil a "tablet" Mac - something a bit bigger than an iPhone but smaller than a MacBook.

What dates are on the menu for possible launches?

iPhone:
- What date is mooted?
- June 19 is mooted for the Sydney Apple Store opening, which would tie in well with a 3G iPhone launch here (with 3 competing 3G providers)... so the 'official' launch might be elsewhere beforehand?

Surely there would be a decent gap until another major new product.

What student/school 'shopping season' suits a new-release MB?

Probably the new-gen CPU upgrade only - hopefully curing whatever fault killed my MBA and improving its cooling system. :)

I'm hoping for an announcement during wwdc.

I need at least 320 gb hd and 3.06 ghz with a 512 video card. I love plaing madden on my macbook pro.

The new MBP redesign will be released at the WWDC for 08, as well as the 3G iPhone. The MBP's will start to ship in the following weeks.

Historically, have Apple Store openings (London?) coincided with product launches?

Launching the 3G iPhone with the Sydney Apple Store on June 19 would be great.

It looks like no complementary MacBook due to Intel's integrated graphics trouble on the new chips. Late August, then?

Knowing Apple, they'll use the back to school season to get rid of the current inventory. Then once everyone has a new machine, they'll announce the new ones (as well as new iPods) :)
