Just looking at the fare details for the South America fares and there's something really odd in there:

NOTE - CHARGE EUR 200.00 FOR UPGRADE

Does that mean they want to silently introduce co-pay for upgrades from Z fares?

Also the charge for changes is 'only' 200 EUR now instead of the normal 300 Euro.

Wasn't this discussed here a while ago and we figured out it is because of UA MP who normally can't upgrade from Z fares?

That's slightly different, it was a upgrades not allowed stances. Also south america routes are not code shared so it wouldn't make any sense to add it here.

Anyway, I've upgraded my EZE-FRA leg with two evouchers and it seems to work fine so far.

No. This is if you decide to change your ticket and the original Z fare conditions don't apply anymore (say validity or no Z availability). In such cases you need to 'upgrade' to a D, J or C fare, for which they ask you to cough up 200 EUR.
