Gang,

We will be flying out next Friday for a Princess cruise to Alaska.

Can anyone tell me where the Cruise terminals are located and where might be the best place to stay the evening before the cruise?

Also, how far is the cruise terminal from the airport? Any easy ways to get there?

Thanks,

William

The cruise terminal is on the waterfront downtown...

The waterfront Marriott is the closest, but really anywhere downtown would work.

This place is also quite close...

You could take the 194 bus into downtown for $2, but if you're carrying a lot of luggage, you might want to go for the Grayline Shuttle which is (I think )$10, or just take a cab which is $30ish

Not that it makes a big difference, but the Princess ships leave from Terminal 30 which is in the SODO area. I think Norwegian and some other ships leave from Terminal 66 which is close to the Edgewater (Marriott).

Like Missy said, any hotel downtown should work great.

Princess leaves from Terminal 30 which is not downtown but a mile south, surrounded by rail lines and commercial docks - no hotels or other commercial activities (but a fine view of the Starbux headquarters nee Sears.)

Stay in any downtown hotel; figure a $10 cab ride to the terminal. From the airport, figure $30 and 20-25 min. to T30.

sorry, didn't realize that Princess had a different terminal.

I totally forgot about the Edgwater Hotel...which is also by the "other" cruise terminal, but still pretty nice.

The only hotel I can think of that is close to the actual terminal is probably the Silver Cloud (http://www.silvercloud.com/) next to the stadium.

If you're looking to save $$ I'd just priceline something near the airport and then take a cab to T30 on Friday.

Thanks everyone,

Missy... your suggestion might be the best...

We are arriving late anyway on Friday..... arrive at midnight.... mini mileage run to get there.... MHT-IAD-DEN-SFO-SEA.... :)

Thanks again,

William

You may also want to stay at the airport (priceline and hotwire have been featuring the Radisson which is nice for $45) then take a shuttle to the terminal on Saturday. I believe the cruise leaves in the afternoon so that allows plenty of time to get there.

^ on the recommendation for a downtown hotel. You can spend a little time Saturday AM wandering around Pike's Place Market and then catch a cab to the cruise terminal.

The Inn at the Market (http://www.innatthemarket.com/) has a great location but there are lots of hotels in the area.

Ooops - just realized you said "next Friday" so this is probably too late!

Pike's is a peak in Colorado. Pike Place is a street in Seattle.

Thanks for the correction:)
I've been lucky enough to visit Seattle twice a month for the last 4 years and walk through the market almost every trip so I do know better but sometimes type too fast and too much!
