I've inquired about the interlining rules of the new program, and was told the following by several agents:

Interlining is possible between SWISS and one partner airline such as AY, IB, AA etc.

It is not possible to combine either LX and two partner airlines or two partner airlines without LX.

Apart from interlining, it is possible to book a ticket entirely on one partner airline.

Edited to add that all of this applies to mileage awards only of course.

So that means that you can't use AY accross the Atlantic unless you want to g o to NYC?

This is a shame. I am sure that I wasn't alone in putting together complicated routings. Even relatively simple routings often took more than one airlines (especially if you were flying in the US).

Thanks for the info Oli.

I reckon you will find it a lot harder to make an 8 segment trip now. As I said in another thread, the whole thing is suddenly a great deal less attractive, and undoubtedly the beginning of the devaluation of FFPs.
