Diners Club Club Rewards - DC Car insurance in non-covered countries

I just wanted to give some feedback on a recent accident I had in New Zealand. As you may know New Zealand plus a couple other countries seem to have special rules / exceptions regarding car rental coverage.

It took a lot of guts, but at rental time I crossed out [and the rental agency initialed] ANY form of insurance. It took a lot of guts, because automatically they wanted to cover anything above $1000.

I happen to have a $2000 accident and I am happy to say that after a relatively painless claim process DC paid up.

The problem with this is that you have to check if DC has changed any of its terms in conditions so you probably need to check the night before any rental.

Let me know if you have any questions.

In what country was your DC issued?

USA. Apparently it has special rules for Israel, UK, nz, and Australia where you have to ame sure your decline means a true decline.
