I have seen several posts on this site with complaints on business class on the Swiss MD-11 aircraft. I am scheduled to take it next week from Zurich to Cairo, is it really as bad as many of you say it is?

Not for ZRH-CAI. Plenty of airlines use narrow bodies from Europe to the Middle East, and the undistinguished 48" longhaul C seat on the LX MD-11 suddenly becomes a rather comfortable product for this market.

WHat about for a flight from ZRH - EZE? Is it comfortable enough to sleep in or should I bring a few pills to help me pass out?

The C seat on the MD-11 is rather wide. Unfortunately the recline is not so good and the legrest is IMHO rather uncomfortable. I can usually sleep nevertheless, but hey, I also sleep in a coach seat!

I imagine that we'll get at least £320 worth of business class seat!

ACtually I have found the Business Class seats to be quite comfortable. Entertainment is to be on the main screen for obvious reasons.

LX just can't wait to have the MD-11s replaced with new A340s as soon as possible.

The new SWISS uniforms are nice though. Simple and yet elegant!

I agree with you. But the uniforms are also quite transparant so a plus for the eyes..
