Swissair Assets From Wine Glasses To Ski Suits Go On Sale

Nostalgic ex-employees, air transport enthusiasts, bargain hunters and the plain curious waited for hours in the rain to buy a piece of Switzerland's collapsed national airline.

The items on sale ranged from CHF1 safety instruction cards to silver-plated champagne buckets for a cool CHF190.

Swissair Group, which owned Swissair, is being overseen by an administrator appointed in the wake of the airline's failure a year ago, when it succumbed to a debt of CHF13 billion.

What I would really like to find is one of those metallic hat stand things that were in the Qualiflyer lounges and Swissair sales offices. On the stand were slightly bent metal plates on each of which were the logos of the various Qualiflyer companies. Apart from being an ornament, they were useless: you certainly couldnīt hang a hat on them? Anyone any idea if these might turn up at the sale, or where they went?
