Hi All,
I'm very tempted to convert 100k Membership Rewards Points into 200k Qualyflier miles and join their programme. I've read that Qualuflyer will "die" soon. My interest in Qualiflyer aside of the AMEX offer was to get a way for the AMEX miles to work on AA who I Travel a lot with and have elite status.
My dilemma is the following: if I transfer to Qualiflyer, would I get the option to choose the SWISS Programme and through this, have access to flights on AA? If my QUaliflyer memebership is transferred to any other programme I might loose the chance of benefitting from AA.
I have no miles or flights with Qualiflyer so there would be no criteria if the system "allocates" me to a programme based on activity.
ANY ADVISE GREATLY APPRECIATTED

Welcome to the Board,

First Qualiflyer is not going to die. From 1st of January they are going to star 3 new program out of the actual Qualiflyer.

AA will still be in partnership with Swiss Travel Club the new Program.

You should be able to book free tket on AA as well as doing upgrades.

Please chech these links:

Where do you see this? Particularly the bit about upgrades?

Kooks,

thanks for the answers. Where did you learn that AA will be partner of Swiss Travel club also? Could not find anything on the website.

Could you confirm if CX, SA and Ukraine Intl. will also remain partners of Swiss Travel club?

on the website of Swiss: under latest news:

http://www.swiss.com/index/tg-qm-qualiflyer/tg-qm-qf-information.htm

" You can still earn and redeem miles in the air on SWISS and several other reputed partner airlines (*) on flights to all the world’s key destinations. As in the past, the number of miles you earn will be based on the distance you travel. Class factors remain unchanged, too: the actual miles for Economy Class customers, 1.5 times the distance travelled for Business Class passengers, and twice the distance for First Class guests.
(*) Currently: (status 30/09/2002)
American Airlines, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Finnair and Air Ukraine International. Negotiations are under way with potential additional partners.
