Hi everybody,
I read the topic regarding the award routing of Ulrich - maybe you can also help me:
Is that a possible routing for an 20.000 miles award-ticket:
SN Berlin-Brussels 07:05-08:30
SN Brusseles-Prag 09:55-11:25 am
LX Prag-Zurich departuring 07:30 am next day
LX Zurich-Moscow
STOP
LX Moscow-Zurich
LX Zurich-Berlin same day
Would you please be so kind to tell me, if I could book this - I have only 18.000 qualiflyer miles and need to know it before I buy 2.000 miles . . .
Thank you so much
Peter
Peter,
bad news, this itinerary doesn't work out since you go through ZRH twice. In your case, ZRH-SVO-ZRH is a "side trip" and would require a seperate ticket. What you might try is
ZRH-SVO LX
SVO-HEL AY
HEL-TXL AY (don't know if they fly there though, otherwise take FRA or so...)

airOli (http://www.olimade.com/airoli), the Swiss Air Line. ;)

I designed my routing in a way that I go eastwards only to my final destination SVO and westwards only on my way back to BRE.
I am not so sure but I think I read about this requirement somewhere.
If my assumption is true, then your routing is not possible as BRU is your westernmost destination.
From here on you could only go eastwards which means that your trip would have to end in PRG as you then go westwards again to ZUR.
You would have to pay for the remaining segments.
If my assumption is wrong, then just discard this posting. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Could one of the experienced FFs please shed some light on this?
Thank you!

No need to go only eastwards/westwards. As long as you dont hit any airport twice on each the outward and return journey, and stay within the eight segments, backtracking within one award zone is actually allowed.

airoli, Ulrich and Hajoflyer: thanks for your help. Will rebuild my trip now.
I think in comparation with LH Miles&More, where only 4 segments are allowed the Qualiflyer-roule is quite a good one - for 20.000 miles!

Miles & More is hopeless: you're not even allowed a stopover (over 24 hrs) on European tickets. I believe that Fréquence Plus permits a stopover.

Airoli, I don't quite understand how Peter goes through Zürich twice. He goes through once on the way to the destination, then once on the way back. Surely you can transit the same airport on the return journey?
I made an itinerary with AirEurope and Volare just before they left Qualiflyer on 30th June:
Milan-Naples PE
Naples-Palermo VA (<24hrs)
Palermo-Rome VA (<24hrs)
Rome-Bari VA (destination)
Bari-Rome VA
Rome-Catania VA (stopover)
Catania-Milan PE
All for the princely sum of 15,000 miles.
I transit Rome on the outward and the inward journey with no problems. I only hope I can rebook all this for November, as some of those city pairs might become a bit intangible in the winter months.
