Las Vegas - 30th Birthday Trip to Vegas Jan2009

Hi guys

Looking for some advice please. My sister will be 30 next January and a group of around 15 of us are going to Vegas to celebrate. My parents love vegas, and particularly the Venetian so I think we'll end up staying there. I was just wondering if there are any suggestions for "special treats" that I might be able to set up in advance.

Off the top of my head, is it possible to get a venue that might have a great view or some other "wow factor" for the night of her birthday?

I know the question is very broad! But any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

IF

Have you been in January? Just a head's up that you probably won't see temps above 65'. It gets cold in Vegas Dec-Feb. A lot of people who have never been think it's always sunny and hot.

Thanks. I realised the weather would not be on par with our summer visits to Vegas. In fact, I'm thinking of heading somewhere to ski with some friends after we hit vegas.

Be sure to stay away from the dates of CES - a very large trade show for the consumer electronics industries:

INTERNATIONAL CES (CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW)
Las Vegas Convention Center
01/08/2009 to 01/11/2009
Estimated Delegates: 148,000

Also keep in mind that some show attendees come in a day or more before the official start of the show, and sometimes stay for a while after the show winds up.
