Swiss airlines mentions in their recent September 2002 Newsletter they realised a e-mail messaging service for departure and arrival times.

You can get your flight notification onto your Mobile Telephone or PC. You just have to insert your preferred dates of travel and Swiss informs you about the currently actual departure and arrival times by SMS or by e-mail. Check at :http://www.swiss.com/index/id-ad-sms-message.htm

This service sucks. Not one delay or cancelled flight was on the sms - but always on the airport screen when I got there (unless the delay wasn't known till later, of course).

I have to agree, it is a joke! As long as they don't include any realtime information it is a complete waste of time and money.
