Hertz - Free Rental Day Accumulation

View Full Version : Free Rental Day Accumulation

My company has a CDP with Hertz that we all are supposed to use when renting. Quite a few of us will use the Southwest CDP whenever they are running a quadruple credit promo or whenever we are only going on a short trip where the Southwest credits work out to be a better deal than the ZE1 points.
Every so often (once a quarter, maybe) Hertz mails us a packet of free rental days. These used to sit unused on our office manager's desk because nobody knew how to use more than one for a rental.
Then I discovered FlyerTalk and I started using them up for vacation rentals and life was good, very good. Then I told a couple other people how to redeem multiple certificates and life is not so good anymore! Now the certificates don't sit unused on the desk any more and there is a rush to snap them up when they come in.
We are trying to figure out how to divvy these up amongst us and one of the questions we had is whether we only accumulate these free days based on rentals that use our corporate CDP, or if even the rentals using the Southwest CDP somehow count towards the total.
Thanks,
Griff

P.S. Take it from me, be VERY careful sharing what you learn on FlyerTalk with the unenlightened!

I only get them when I use my personal company CDP (briantoronto consulting).

Can't answer your question directly, yet...

Glad you learned that lesson... :)

Wow... that would an ultimate FT claim... your own CDP! ;)

Can you share what the process is, for a small company (or person) to get their own CDP? A minimum number of rental days?

I've got my own CDP and usually it gives me 5 or 10% off.

When I use my CDP and choose ZE1, for each rental day, typically, my solo law firm gets 1 point (most airports & manhattan) or 2 points (at HLEs).

Plus, there's an enrollment bonus, double points during your 1st 90 days. and also the occasional promo like double points for FL rentals.

They send out statements quarterly and you get a free day cert mailed to you for every 15 points earned.

These "company" points are in addition to any personal Hertz Club (Gold, PC 5*, etc) points earned.

Thanks much for the info! It's just so tempting to get a CDP, just for the bragging rights alone. I guess my challenge in using the CDP would be that if I only get 5-10% off, I'd have to decide if the sum of the realized benefits is greater then the money saved from using CDPs for organizations I actually belong to (which can sometimes approach 20%). I guess if I could talk Hertz into matching my best CDP, I'd be all over this. And if the 15 rental-day free-day-coupon can be built with other people using your CDP, that would be a neat little trick...
