Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Connecting in PER (CGK - PER - MEL)... questions

3 of us traveling in QF Y later this month: myself, mrs. nd_eric_77 & our 2.5 yr old daughter...

1. Since we are arriving from an intl flight but departing on a domestic one, is there a domestic luggage re-check at the international terminal? Or do we have to haul the bags to the domestic terminal ourselves? (:eek:)

2. We currently have ~7 hours between arrival & departure. Is this adequate time for a quick trip into the city of PER, or should we just plan to hang out in the airport? (Fortunately, we will have QF J-lounge access per my status on AA)

3. Do QF lounges have complimentary wifi Internet access?

1. Not sure. There is a transfer bus at some times of day (not the middle of the night). May only be for QF->QF transfer pax?

2. Yes plenty of time. City is not far away - a short cab ride (or bus during daylight hours).

Just to follow up...

1. It sucked to transfer from international to domestic in PER. We had to collect all of our checked baggage and then bring them to an inter-terminal bus. The posted bus schedule was utterly irrelevant, as we boarded the bus at 7.40 and it was a good 30 minutes before we left for the domestic terminal (schedule said the bus would leave at 7.45).

2. Due to sticker-shock at the prices of roundtrip shuttle rides into the city, we just camped out in the Qantas lounge for our layover. My wife & daughter were able to sleep some, so that was good. The lounge was nice. Complimentary soft-drinks rather than AU$4 for a can of coke was VERY nice.

3. Complimentary wifi was very nice; pretty decent connection speed for downloading podcasts.
