Who do you mean by DC? If Diners Club, there's a separate forum for that. If someone else, you need to clarify who.

A long time with what? You need to provide more details.

How did you dispute? Online or by phone?

I've only disputed in one case, where a hotel was supposed to refund me my deposit (the online reservation form had conflicting policies: immediate 100% deposit, and yet "no charge if cancelled within x days of stay", and I hadn't noticed the former and cancelled as soon as the 100% deposit hit my DC). The hotel had not done the refund for a couple weeks despite a couple requests (one to the hotel, one to the chain). Since the situation was complicated, I called DC and discussed it and gave all the supporting info. About a week or so later it showed up as officially closed, but I don't know if it's because the hotel finally issued the refund on its own or if DC pushed them to it.
