Hi guys i have never done a long term rental i will bein PHX from June 26th to August 20th. I want the cheepest car possible from the cheepest no name vendor. Is anyone familer with how to do this and where to look. I would like to spend no more then 300 per month(it is off season in PHX). Any advice for a novice would be great currently all costs are 500 north when i look on the travel sites.

Thanks

Maybe you could try booking a priceline.com rental? When I worked at PDX, we saw many $12 a day bids even in our peak season. Or perhaps try booking for 4 weeks (28 days) instead of a month to get a better rate. Of course that may mean returning and re-renting, depending on the location's policies.

Good luck trying to find a rate that cheap. I live in PHX and am a rental car agent here too. I've never seen a $ 300 rate here in 10 years I've been renting cars here. The taxes here are nearly 47% of your rental. City fee, airport fee, facility fee, stat lic fee, county tax, sales tax. Some of the fees are taxed...so it addes up fast. You should check off sight out of city of Phx limits where taxes are less. See if that helps.
