Anyone has ever purchased a ticket on Asiana website departing from North America?
Not sure either I am guffy, or Asiana website is a piece of crap:
for departure city, they only allow "Korea", which means the website is set up only for passengers departing from Korea.

interesting example of how slang doesn't cross the world. In Uk, you wouldn't want to be "guffy" (!). [you really wouldn't]
It works fine for me here in UK, and opens up what looks surprisingly like an Expedia window- not at all surprising actually because it's run by expedia.
Are you looking at the right website? The one for English speakers in Korea behaves as you say: you start with "us.flyasiana.com" and it takes you to one that's like "travel.wwte1.com"

Their Korean website is for departures from Korea, their Australian site for Australia and their US site for departures from the US. In the top right hand corner is a little drop down menu which lets you chose your regional version of the site.
Happy flying!

You were using the English website for foreigners residing in Korea http://flyasiana.com/english. As others have suggested, use http://us.flyasiana.com. @:-)

Ive noticed this as well..
went to the southeast asian website ea.flyasiana.com to try to book a flight from Manila to Los Angeles, the only countries listed there were Taipei, Bangkok, Singapore and New Delhi. Asiana flies out from Manila so it is surprising why Manila is not in their list for southeast asian countries..

thanks to all for sharing the info. i know the trick now. still do not like how Asiana set up the web booking. what if you do not know all those alternative URLs.

You don't need to know the URLs. Just use the drop down menu. You will find similar issues with Qantas and other airlines as well. I agree, it is better to make people chose when they enter the site rather than have a small menu somewhere.

I attempted to purchase a ticket on the US site last year, but my debit card was not accepted (address verification failure). I discovered that Asiana's US website is actually controlled by Expedia's server, and for some strange reason, when I went directly to Expedia, the same card was accepted for an Asiana e-ticket for the exact same ticket price. At that time, Expedia would not allow me to input my Asiana Club number during the transaction.
My biggie with Asiana's site is the fact that it does not suggest alternate days when telling one that no flight is available for the requested itinerary.
By the way, I am not promoting the use of debit cards for ticket purchase at all, as this does not give the protection that a credit card does.

They don't list Phnom Penh either, even though they fly from here to ICN.

I see what you mean? I do believe you can input unlisted cities here:
