Air New Zealand Air Points - 747/400 Seats At Back Of Plane Question

We will be flying Air New Zealand next month from LAX/LHR. I requested row 66, seats A&C, which is a two seat configuration at the back of the plane (747-400). We have never flown on a 747 and I'm worried about motion at the back of this plane. Any thoughts about this seating area? SeatGuru lists it as "green". I'm not concerned about being last to de-plane. THANKS!

There is a little more movement right at the back, but LAX-LHR vv is not a route that typically gets a lot of turbulence (as opposed to the transpacific flights).

Have flown long haul down the back many times (LAX-AKL which typically I believe gets MORE turbulence) .. I can't say I've ever noticed it overmuch...:D
I think they are very good seats.....:D Enjoy the trip!!

We just returned from our trip to NZ/Aus, and flew 65 HK. In my opinion, they are some of the best seats on the plane. the room on the side by the window is really nice (66 will have some side room as well). Our flights were bumpy, but I don't think being in the back made it any worse.

The trans-pacific flights are just bumpy, doesn't seem to matter where you are.
Though I hear that the 2015 version of Business Premier seats will have base isolating legs adapted from earthquake strengthened buildings, and then you'll be able to sleep through turbulence. This will probably trickle down to Pacific class in 2045. :D
I started this thread and wanted to add that we sat in seats 65 B&C. We had plenty of leg room and room to stow our carry-on's on the side of our seats. I would definately request these seats again. ^

Ditto..... I must say I've always held that view.....
As for me I'll be trying something new on Monday.... 36C - if the upgrade doesn't clear... .....If I am sitting there () it will be interesting to see if it's as good as the seats down the back... (haven't sat anywhere else in Y, and been in Y+ or BP in recent years...;))

Just a quick question for you (and anyone else who's sat in row 65 in the NZ744), is the window seat in the row in front (row 64) directly in front of you or is it slightly at an angle?
I'll be doing AKL-LAX come December and I've already chosen my preferred seat of 64K. I thought about rows 65 or 66 window seats, but the gap between the seat and the window would be troublesome for someone like me who likes to take a lot of happy snaps of the view out the window. I also chose the row 64 window seat because the fact that there's no seat directly behind me, it will allow me to recline without guilt (normally I won't recline because I care for my fellow economy class passengers because I definitely get frustrated myself when Tom, Dick or Harriette immediately recline their seat 10 seconds after boarding!).
So are my expectations/beliefs realistic in that I think I won't be impeding someone's space coz there won't be anyone directly behind me ?
And also, how much of the wing and outboard engine could you see from that far back in the plane? :)
