The media sure is pitching in on the effort to get those $1,200 rebates back into the economy on the retail and tourism side of things (http://edition.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/getaways/04/28/tax.rebate.getaways/index.html), rather than doing something useful, like paying down debt or saving it for when your job disappears. I probably would've titled the article something closer to How to waste your tax rebate, but I guess that just makes me a cynic. On the plus side, the information they offer about the destinations isn't all bad, so I guess I can't hate them too much (http://www.wanderingaramean.com/2008/04/this-months-idiocy-in-travel-writing.html).
