I will be doing a bit of hopping around Asia end of December into beginning of Jan.. I'll be flying into HKG on KE from ICN in Biz.. then to TPE, i was thinking on using CX, but I am confused as to whether I should book C or F. It seems CX450 is scheduled as the New layout on 30-Dec., the day I'll be leaving HKG for TPE. Any suggestions?

F is F and is always better than J, though I'm not sure I would pay a premium to sit in either for such a short sector. Is this a going to be a revenue or redemption booking?

Revenue... would C be best? I'm looking at a booking on Expedia.com of..
HKG-TPE C with CX 31-dec
Stay in a hostel a 2 days. then 2-jan to 5-jan. Grand Hyatt Taipei
then TPE-HKG> C with CX 5-Jan
then HKG-ICN>C (possible F upgrade with KE miles) 5-jan.
Overnight in Grand Hyatt Incheon (via KE's business class amenity for Non-connection flights)
then ICN-LAX C with KE 6-Jan.
total price is at $1,870.00
i've already booked
LAX-ICN with KE in Y on 19 dec.
Stay with friends in Korea
then ICN to HKG with KE on 28 dec. in C (miles upgrade to F is possible though)
Stay in Island Pacific Hotel 28 Dec to 31 Dec.

If you don't fly CX much, why don't pay a bit more for a try? I sure it would be unforgettable.

I'm not sure of your exact fare type / booking class etc, but if it's full-fare J vs. F, it's only a difference of USD 60 one-way. and if it's indeed what you need to pay to get from J to F on HKG-TPE or v.v., I'd say, why not, especially if you haven't been on the new F yet and would just want to have a very short experience with it (it's indeed a great new seat). don't expect too much on catering though, I'd say it's largely similar to J.

Sp, If i buy J online, can i ask to pay the UG to F? I'm having trouble getting it to price... It doesn't let you combine F and C on most sites when your doing the Multi-City option. or any option.. any ideas.. when i book a F alone TPE-HKG $575USD~ and HKG-TPE C $476~ or.. when i book: HKG-TPE-HKG-ICN-LAX
$1870.10 in C with CX and KE.(HKG-ICN-LAX)...

beats me why anyone would want to pay for c or f on hkg tpe when the seat belt signs are on most of the time, you take off climb to altitude, just about have time to take a leak and the seat belt signs are back on again
