Can someone tell me the opening and closing dates for the water parks at WDW. Also are they open weekends later in the year? Thanks

This took about 30 seconds to find. Google can be your best friend!

If you're bringing children to Orlando - there is a new waterpark called Aquatica that just opened. I am doing some work with them and I'd be glad to answer any questions you have about the park. It has had great reviews by people in Disney communities so far.

I also think you may be able to get more feedback in the Orlando forum, so I'm going to slide it on over there.

Thanks!

Could you please give me specific name of new waterpark for me?In the text you quoted, DolphinLady84 named the park Aquatica. I would suspect that she was refering to Aquatica - A Seaworld Waterpark (http://www.aquaticabyseaworld.com/Site/flash/homepage/Default.aspx).

yes hhoope01 - that's the one I am talking about - sorry N830MH I know Disney has a few waterparks around but in case you are interested in checking out other sites in Orlando, I just wanted to bring your attention to Seaworld's new water park - Aquatica - which combines the marine life of Seaworld, the colors and animals of the South Seas, in addition to traditional water park rides such as wave pools and a lazy river. There is even a water slide that goes through a dolphin habitat - it's pretty neat. Enjoy your stay at Disney, but if you get a chance, there are single day passes available for Aquatica

It has had great reviews by people in Disney communities so far.

Actually, the reviews I've seen have been lukewarm. They said Aquatica is pleasant but inconsistently and cheaply themed, and not particularly creative.

We've done both the Disney water parks many times over. Each is a unique experience and it's hard to say if one is better than the other. If it's your first time, I'd do Typhoon Lagoon...just because it's the original, and seems the place to start. They have a great self-guided shark tank you can snorkel through plus a huge wave pool that cannot be beat.

Typhoon Lagoon would seem to be a good park if you have toddlers or kids under 8.

Blizzard Beach has some more elaborate slides and a great "iceberg" area for kids 8-12.

Both are full day attractions. They do close earlier than the other theme parks and are subject to closure at any time if even the least bit of lightning is seen (and that happens often) or if they reach capacity (that happens often too; like all things Disney, arrive early).

We are at the point where we just alternate between Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach each visit.

Here's some positive feedback and overall coverage:

Right. I know there is few waterparks at Disney is Blizzard Beach & Lagoon Beach, too. I certainly remember when my brother & I went to Blizzard Beach almost 13 years ago. It was doing just fine that mean we were there at Disney for short weekend at MCO. Its absolutely wonderful time when we were there at Blizzard Beach from many years ago. It was during short weekend from my schools. I rode on the Greyhound bus back to St. Augustine alone without my brother has to stay in Orlando.
