Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Quick question Re: 15k shorthaul Cathay award on AA

I did a quick searc, but couldnt find the exact answer. To use 15k miles to fly on AA using Cathay miles from YYZ-NYC, must I really "request" the flight online and wait 7 days for a result? I am trying to buy a flight with it, so it makes it very inefficient... is there any other way?

I've never redeemed an award ticket, but I have redeemed upgrades before. If I'm not mistaken, you can call up either AsiaMiles or the Marco Polo Club if you're a member and they can make the booking for you.

I beleive if you have CX miles that means your either Asia Miles or MPo member. You can call the hotline respecitively for the answer....mind you, getting through is a little bit of a challenge, but your reply is instant and you will know availability and can even make the booking on the spot.
