As Gold VIP does Hilton Waikoloa give breakfast certs to wife and two children under 10 traveling with me? When we stayed at the HHV we received a breakfast cert for all of us for all days of our stay. Does Hilton Waikoloa do this?
Thanks Much.

I was there Feb 07. My husband is gold. NO breakfast coupon but got access to executive lounge. Wasn't impressed. Small room. small balconeys. not a huge selection.

Wow so they don't give breakfast coupons at the Hilton Waikoloa Village even for the gold member? Has anyone else experienced this??
The Hilton Hawaiian Village gave all 4 in our party certs.

What exactly is on the executive floor? Is it a breakfast? What type of selections? Are there other snacks/meals/drinks there?

At the HWV, it's a continental style spread (pastries, cereal, fruit) with coffee, juice, tea and hot chocolate. It's open in the afternoon and has cookies and soda.

It worked for us (wife and 2 boys - 9 and 7). We're not huge breakfast eaters. The room is relatively small but there's an extended room.

Have fun!

P.S. We're neighbors! I live in Pleasanton and work in Livermore!

The info by the above posters is outdated. Here is a report from the "Hilton Waikoloa Village" thread

As others have reported here the Gold Lounge is now closed. We were presented with breakfast vouchers for 4 for each day of our stay. The vouchers entitle you to a continental breakfast (not the continental breakfast buffet). The continental breakfast consists of coffee, juice and three preselected breakfast items (one danish, one small croissant and one piece of banana bread). I was able to apply the value of this ($13.50) to another item on the menu. The full buffet is $30 for adults so you can upgrade to this for $17, but that was more than I wanted to spend on a breakfast upgrade. The full buffet for kids (under 12 I believe) is something like $13.95 so it was a no brainer to upgrades by kids each day to the full buffet for less than $0.50. There is a Continental breakfast buffet (no hot selections) for $20, but I was told I could not upgrade to that. I was able to apply the voucher to other breakfast items. I believe an Omelet was $14.50, but of course coffee and juice would be extra on top of that. We were able to upgrade the kids and order menu items with minimal to no charges each day of our stay (other than a tip for the server).

Thank Irrover.
It's good the kids get upgraded at virtually no cost. Both my kids are big eaters and love the buffet breakfast.
I don't understand though why it's so different than the HHV. You get so much more there because it is a continental buffet which a very good selection. Seems stingy of them to not offer this at the HWV as well I don't get it.

It was my understanding that if you are upgraded to a room on the Executive level, you will be given access to the Executive Lounge, which serves continental breakfast, cookies and soda in the afternoon, and pupus in the evening. If you are not in an executive room and you are Gold or Diamond, then you are given certificates good for a continental breakfast. No more lounge access for Diamonds who are not upgraded to Executive rooms.

How do you get upgraded to Executive level floor as a Gold VIP? Is this even possible? Anyone done it?

Thanks.

I believe that's true for Gold, but it may not be for Diamond (yet). As a Diamond, we had a stay from 12/26/2007 - 1/8/2008 where we were in the Palace Tower, but had full lounge access in the Ocean Tower (during the busiest time of the year). A later two day stay in March 2008 brought an upgrade to a Suite on the 5th Floor (Room 5100 - excellent) of the Ocean Tower (which is also considered an executive floor), so had access in any event.
