Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - KA 870 today (Apr 20) - operated with 744?

just now I was checking tonight's flight schedule, KA 870 HKG-PVG...using KVS tool. it shows "744" in the aircraft equipment column (usually I think it's very accurate showing last minute change in equipment e.g. on CX HKG-TPE-HKG where last-minute equipment change happens).

does it mean CX is giving KA a 744 plane tonight to operate the HKG-PVG flight, to handle all the stranded passengers in HKG due to the typhoon yesterday ? if so it's the first time I've heard of a KA flight operated with a CX aircraft ?

but when I tried to check PVG-HKG tomorrow, no flight seems to be flying with 744...maybe it's not just updated yet ? or where does the 744 go ?

Checking in online for a KA flight the other day, I thought I was experiencing some sort of bug with the website (I can't ever complete the check in process and get to the OLCI confirmation directly so I figured it was par for the course). I was assigned to 14A and the seat map was showing 2-3-2 configuration. Row 14 doesn't exist on KA's A330s, and obviously the A330s are 2-2-2 in J.

Sure enough, the flight was operated by a CX 777 with normal CX service. I was more than a bit surprised, but the crew were great so I wasn't complaining!
