Best Western Matsumoto, Nagano Japan, was planned, built, advertised and expected to open on 1 APR.
The operator company Reicof, Osaka Japan, went bankrupt shortly before the opening day. This was reported to be related to sub-prime loan problems in the US.
The hotel was taken over by a bridal ceremony company just a few days before the opening and renamed Hotel Harmoni Bien (http://www.hb-wedding.jp/). It is no more a BW.
The hotel uses the renovated historical building ,"Dai-ichi Kan-gin" (http://www.hb-wedding.jp/institution/img/photo_b.jpg) for an event hall and some restaurants. It stands on the way from JR Matsumoto station to "Matsumoto Jo", one of the famous Japanaese castles.
I tried one of the restaurants and felt that it can meet Westerner's standards. I mean that was not bad.
