Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX in YVR

Hi all,

I am curious to see if anyone can let me know what happened to the flights at YVR on 16April and 17April? CX889 is delayed until 16:25 17Apr, 14 hour delay. I believe that that cx835 was cancelled as well. Anyone know why the delay and cancellation?

Don't know all the details but here is some info.
4/16 885 LAX-HKG diverted to YVR with an engine out. Same airplane seems to have operated 889 YVR-HKG.
4/17 889 is about to land in YVR from JFK. Don't know why it was delayed leaving JFK. It appears this aircraft will operated as 889D YVR-HKG.

CX885 (744) had engine failure and made an emergency landing in YVR. Pax were then switched to a 346 to continue with the CX885 flight to HKG. since the 346 is from CX836 HKG-YVR, therefore CX835 was cancelled.

I was informed before flying HKG<>LAX 16APR via CX880 that there will be an aircraft change.

Upon arriving LAX, i saw another CX 747 which is parked. I suspected it has problems. I'm guessing thats the same craft we are talking about. :)
