I have booked a one way business class ticket for late August over 1 week ago but am still waiting for the charge to hit my credit card. If it makes any difference, the flight is one way from Bahrain to Hong Kong and I paid with my UK registered American Express card. The FAQ section of the CX website states:
"Once you have confirmed your booking online, we will immediately issue a debit note to your credit card company". Incidently, is a debit note the same as requesting the full amount outright straight away (and not like when a hotel makes a provisional debit on your card upon check in)?
I have received the booking confirmation e-mail and can view the booking via the website. However, I sent a message 2 days ago via the eService Centre requesting confirmation that the charge would be made soon but they haven't even replied. I am only anxious as I would like the charge for this flight to make it onto my next American Express statement.
Is there precedence for CX delaying making a charge onto a credit card for a flight booked many months in advance? Is there anyone I can call to hasten the payment/charge? Lastly, if I decide to cancel the booking (I didn't realise CX regarded Bahrain as a "regional" destination and used the 777-200 with the regional business class seats), how quickly does a refund appear back onto your credit card? I would be very grateful for any advice/guidance.
