Qantas Frequent Flyer - Is this the way it will be?

I noticed QF have dropped a few prices for cheapies for travel in May ex-MEL (I presume from other cities as well). Noting they are NOT as good as the more recent sale fares, eg:
MEL-SYD $79 (was $56)
MEL-BNE $112 (was ~$99)
I wonder if this is the new "low" level we will see for QF N class now that JQ is offering, for example $69 AVV-BNE and $59 AVV-SYD.
Comments welcome.

Most likely - you will get what you are happy to pay for.
IMHO if you can get decent availabilty on QF for $79 then that seems like a good deal - I hope it is sustainable for QF (and us).
If we want to economise we can always buy the "Home Brand" oops JQ at $59 or DJ presumably at $59 as they have committed to not being undersold though DJ are said not to be making as much out of the fare as JQ but then it could all come down to yield management. DJ should get a better yield then JQ as DJ will still have its premium business segment.
What will be interesting will be if we will see slightly lower fares from JQ once they go all A320 fleet and their cost per ASK is even lower than their launch costs per ASK with the 717's. They will certainly have mmore capacity to fill.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm seeing a crapload more N class avail with this higher pricing than there was before. Maybe I've just got lucky with the days I've been looking at, but it sure seems like they're throwing more cheap seats out...
