Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - HKG Transfer (overnight) Luggage Question

I will be arriving SFO-HKG at 6:15pm, overnighting and then continuing on a Dragonair flight to PNH. Can I check the luggage all the way through to PNH, or will I need to get it at HKG and later recheck it?

I've done CBR-MEL-HKG-LHR, overnight layover in HKG. No problem checking luggage through.

No problem for me either, SYD/HKG/ICN/YVR

I was told by the agent, as long as the 2nd leg is within 24 hours.
