I've been a HHoners member for 3 months, due to ridculas travel, I've already reached Gold VIP and Diamond is very must attainable.

I am planning to go to San Juan, PR (for fun) and stay at the Caribe Hilton. I don't have enough Points to help me, but I am curious of what to expect (if anything) with my status if I book the hotel on the Hilton website.

In other words, would I be a dummy to book a room at the Executive level for two? When I the benifits state that my spouse would be free and I could get an upgrade to Executive level upon check in.

Any help here?

Don't want to be PO in PR.

The Hilton Caribe is a great hotel to stay at. I travel for work and used my Hilton points to get 4 free nights. Well worth it. Great Facilities.

Regarding what you can expect from being a Gold HH, I was Gold when I went in February and did not get a room upgrade. However, I did get access to the Hilton Executive lounge for free breakfasts. They should have upgraded me regardless of how I paid (points or cash), but they said they had nothing available. They do take care of their guests and the service was great, but not much red carpet for me besides for the Hilton Exec lounge.

You should go...great location and we had a great time.

Welcome to both of you. While some of it is old, there is a wealth of info in this thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=444529
