Hi,
Can anyone enlighten me as to what I'm likely to be driving when Alamo describe a car class as "Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 or similar Midsize 5-Door/Manual/Air" - I can't remember the last time I picked up a European car at a UK Car Hire company.
Am I likely to be driving a Daewoo?? :td:

My experience with Alamo in the UK was that if it says Vauxhall Vectra you will most likely get one. In the UK there is usually not much of a choice within a car class, so usually there is no 'or similar'.

Thanks vetterland. Have never used Alamo before (always Hertz, Avis or Woods) - have never had the car illustrated in the booking class, always similar.

I've rented with Alamo/National in the UK a lot and have never actually had a Vectra. Other options I've had in that group have been a Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 407 and VW Passat. Never seen a Daewoo on their lot...:-)

U won't get a Daewoo as that brand ceased to exist in Europe several yrs ago. Beware if u get a Chevrolet tho.......

Update: Arrived at BHX and there was a Seat Altea Diesel waiting for me.
OK - but had a tendency to die (with a thudding kick into the pax seat) if I pulled away with anything other than decent revs in first (terrifying the first time it happened going into a roundabout!!)
