I know the new J is flying the Kangaroo route via BKK and SIN. But does anyone know if it has started service to HKG yet?

Thanks

Yes, they have been flying the SYD-HKG route since the first aircraft was fitted in between the SYD-LHR routing.

... but not every service - I am not sure of the relative chance of scoring dreamtime.

Have done two return trips to HKG in the past month and only one flight out of the four had the refit - unfortunately not the one on which I managed to score an upgrade!

Interestingly, prior to the current trip I checked out the QF website to see what was on offer as far as films on the IFE goes. The website told me that the seatback IFE was not available on this route! Now I understand that not all planes have had the sleeper seat refit but all of them on the route appear to have at least the seatback IFE.

All 744's and all but 2 of the 743's have seat back IFE in the WHY cabin. It would be unusual to get a 300 on the HKG route. For the Business classes, the telly is one of those swing out numbers under your armrest, unless of course you are in the new sleeper seat. That in itself begs the question. If you are paying all this money for business classes, why would you want to sleep all the way through it? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Some of us poor sods actually have to work after getting off an overnight flight.
Hence the delight at getting sleeper seats on QF as opposed to the CX wedgies.
AND YES. I have tried the new , better incline version on CX .
IT STILL SUCKS.

In that case, I'll stick with CX. I'd hate to end up with a crabby person like you.
