Best Western Rewards - No points for extended stays?

Mr. Kipper is staying at a Best Western for about a month, along with a few co-workers. The hotel allows them to check out, and back in each week for ease in doing paperwork. One coworker called after noticing that his points weren't posting, and was told they no longer issue points for extended stays. I checked the T&C's and discovered that in there, it does say they do not issue points for extended stays longer than one week.
Does checking out and in again count as an extended stay, since they're technically checking out after a week?
Does this discourage anyone else from staying there for any length of time?

Common reports herein that, for nearly all chains, the 'check-out/check-back-in' tactics are routinely thwarted... What works: *change hotels, and/or *skip a nite.
Seems like an opportunity for a regular Saturday all-nite poker-party down at the Super8 :D

They're thinking about just paying an extra $4/night to stay at the Comfort Suites down the road instead. At least there, they'd get points. :D

Checking in & out weekly is solely to the hotel's advantage. It allows them to bill your credit card and get paid. I'd be looking for something in return.

What's odd is that Mr. Kipper did receive points for his stay.

I just stayed at a BW for 35 nights an it was posted just fine. Now you got me worried for this stay now that I'm here for another month.

Sorry--apparently one of Mr. Kipper's co-workers received some of the points, but not all he should've received. You'll probably want to keep an eye on your account.
