Hi,
i am travelling to HKG through LHR (arriving from FRA) in 10 days.
Few questions:
1. How's the luggage situation in LHR? Are they still loaded with lots of suitcases or is it back to normal?
2. Which lounge can i use? (travelling in C)
thanks !
best regards

If you are arriving on Lufthansa (Terminal 2) then you should be ok with luggage transferring to Terminal 3 for NZ as this hasn't been affected. If you are arriving on BA from Frankfurt (Terminal 5) then apparently things are ok, but there remains a risk while the backlog is getting cleared up. The Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 transfer will be far lengthier than Terminal 2 to Terminal 3, as Terminal 5 is not adjacent.
At Terminal 3 flying NZ in C you can use the United lounge, SAS/Air Canada "London Lounge" or the Singapore Airlines lounge. Of those I'd rank the United lounge as last, although it is the "official" lounge NZ uses, in that it is the only one with an NZ contracted staff rep on the counter and with announcements for the NZ flights. The SAS/Air Canada "London lounge" is roomy and pleasant, but the Singapore lounge is also nice and has better food. The Singapore one is slightly the "wrong" direction to the gates, but that only adds about 2 minutes compared to the SAS/Air Canada lounge.
All the best, hope you have good flights and a not too stressful experience at Heathrow.

Good luck with the pleasure of traveling though LHR. If only all airports could be like RAR with its out door departure lounge.

Thanks for the Info !
One additional question. I have never flown with NZ before. Are they strict with baggage allowance? returning from asia i normally have around 35Kg so 5 more than actually allowed... Will they - normally - charge for this? How much?
thanks !

Donīt you have a status, because this will give you additional 10 kg more allowance.

I assume marcydarcy is flying economy. 20+10kgs.
I don't check bags, but IIRC the leeway given for excess baggage charges is 2 or 3kgs only.

As Kiwi says they usually start to charge at 3kg over, but would they do that for a Business class passenger - YMMV. [You can take 2 x 7kg carryon + 'personal item' + thin laptop bag]
Of course if *G it's a moot point.

Thanks ! I am flying in Business Classs but have no status (except LH FTL/*S which is useless in that case)
I was not aware that i can have two pcs cabin baggage - this should help...

I think, that LH FTL gives you the additional 10 kg more. Why should this not work in your case ?

I thought this is on only for LH and it's fully integrated partners like Austrian, LOT... I would be happy if you're right ! Somebody know for sure ? Thanks !

No. The *A extra baggage allowance is only for *G status. Some airlines may give more allowances for their own elites.
