Travel Products - Best form-fitting sleeve for MacBook Air?

Hello,
Where can I find info on current and upcoming sleeves to fit the Apple MacBook Air?

There may be some existing threads but I couldn't find them in this forum, where I think discussion should belong.

I've only found larger ones to suit the MacBook range locally.
There does not seem to be any definitive products listed in the TravelTech forum either, so please post any clues or links here.

Bubblewrap has done the job until now but many bubbles have popped off.

Thanks for your advice! :)

My guess is that the MBA is so new that the rest of the world hasn't caught up yet. However, I would check with the apple stores and see if they have an incase sleeve that would fit. I love incase products.

I'm changing carryons and chose a Tom Bihn Ristretto Messenger http://www.tombihn.com/ , to use as a sleeve in my carryon. Their brain bag sleeve product is also available for small laptops. [I have to admit I'm shopping for a small Fujitsu Lifebook.] I haven't flown with the Ristretto yet, but it works well between the living room and study. I found Tom Bihn recently, through recomendations here.

I've had good experiences with Waterfield (http://sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm).

They're sold out right now, but the AirMail (http://www.manilamac.com/) sleeve is pretty awesome (obviously inspired by the Apple TV spot). Timbuk2 (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/cms/macbookair/macbookair.htm?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=image_steve_sleeve&utm_campaign=march_2008) is coming out with the Steve Sleeve soon, and I'm sure more will follow.

From DailyCandy:

Cindy: Good morning, Margo, how was your weekend?
Margo: It was great. I went to the …
Cindy: I don’t really care; I was just being polite.
Margo: Oh.
Cindy: Where is that manila envelope that was on my desk?
Margo: I mailed it for you.
Cindy: You what?!
Margo: I mailed it for you. Along with the other letters.
Cindy: But that was my new MacBook Air!
Margo: Your what? Your computer? Why was it in an envelope?

Cindy: Because it’s the jazziest computer on the market — so thin that it fits inside a regular mailing envelope. That “envelope” you mailed was my new AirMail manila notebook sleeve. You know, the one designed by Jona Bechtolt (a.k.a. Yacht) and Claire L. Evans that looks exactly like a normal manila envelope, except that it has a durable upholstery-grade vinyl exterior and soft, furry fleece lining, making it the perfect everyday carrying case?

Margo: I get it; they’re pushing the envelope.

Thanks Emma, Flies, Sarah and Ace, it seems nobody has tried any of these yet, so let's hope we each get to try them soon.

Pushing the envelope, hehe. :)

i posted a link in this thread to a macbook air forum which had a bunch of sleeves specifically for the air, but the post seems to have disappeared.

i'm new to flyertalk... is there some kind of rule against posting to other forums? it was a legitimate forum with thousand of mac users, not a spammy link.

here's the thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=437912) at the macrumors forums. and there's this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=443970&highlight=bag) that has others.

i also saw this today (http://www.altrec.com/seal-line/computer-sleeve-small), which looks pretty utilitarian, but is waterproof.

on another thread in the macbook air forum at macrumors, someone mentioned they called the laptop bag company Booq, who plan to have a Macbook Air specific sleeve by mid-april based on the very cool XS2 series. (http://www.booqbags.com/s.nl/it.A/id.65/.f?sc=13&category=-113)

Im a huge fan of Waterfield (http://www.sfbags.com/) design and they have a sleeve for the MacBook Air. I have it and it is excellent like all of their other products. This company is just fantastic. Ive called them up about orders and gotten the CEO on the phone and he has fixed stuff immediately. They are everything a company should be in terms of quality and customer service.

If I have my MBA in one of these sleeves, will the TSA make me take it out when I pass through security or can I just leave it in the sleeve and put it in the bin?

I have found that independent of what sleeve it is, they always seem to make me take my computer out of the sleeve. They even get pissy usually if you sit the computer on top of the sleeve in the same bin. :(

Another Waterfield fan here. I've had their sleeve and case for cords for years and they're indestructable, very attractive, too. When I ever get a new laptop, I'll go back to them for a new sleeve.
