I am sure this is covered somewhere in this forum, but since I need clarification before I can even search, hope all are patient with me starting another thread -
I have been told that the SPG credit card is an outstanding choice for travel. I currently have an AMEX, a USAir, and a Marriott. (I live in CLT and stay primarily at Marriotts...but am out enough to qualify for top tier in one hotel chain and 2nd to top in another) I am unhappy with US, and Amex is trying to get me to upgrade to Gold - but would I be better off getting the SPG card?
And if so, and there are a variety, which one? Do they run offers or specials that I should wait for? (as in: Marriott Rewards card is running a special right now of a 75K MR points sign up bonus)
If there is a "friends and family" recommendation bonus (MR has one) I would be more than happy to sign up through an FT'er if I decide to go with the applicable card.
Any and all comments are appreciated, and again, I apologize if this has been covered repeatedly in this forum.
