Hi Everyone

I am debating between the Adams Mark Hotel now Sheraton Hotel and the Westin city center for April 18-21...I am a PLT Starwood

Any comments on both?

Thank you

The Westin City Center isn't really near anything and last time I was there (about a year ago) it was in need of some updating. The place just feels old. Why not the W?

The W by all means. Great location, cool pool (if warm enough), large rooms for a W.

I, too, concur with the W... for a few reasons. First, many things in Dallas are centered closer to Victory Park where the W is located than the area where the Westin City Center is (and the Adams Mark/Sheraton, which is right across the street. Second, the W is a MUCH newer hotel with great public areas (the gym and pool have awesome views over the city), compared to the Westin which is, frankly, dated and on the night I spent there, mobbed with convention-goers. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes in the lobby just to get on an elevator! :td:

I cant even recall whether I posted a review on the City Center, but I wont be rushing back there anytime soon. Even with a decent upgrade to a large junior suite, the place just felt dated. Although I dont really care for the hipness factor of the W chain (despite the fact that I feel like I fit their ideal demographic as a 25-year old urban traveller), and the attitude at the Dallas W has turned me off in the past, after trying the Westin I am sure I will leave my business at the W for future stays.

PS- Good luck getting a Platinum upgrade at the W... the closest I've come is when they've tried to convince me it was a better room than I've booked.

well thanks a lot for your responses....
I do love the W but I during thr weekend I am there I want to use 3 different hotels to be able to get my 2nd 5000 starwood points for the new promo
5 stays = 5000 points 10 stays 10000 points...
also W hotel is about $329 a night and tough to get upgrades even as a PLT
Adams Mark is $159... and they have 22 Presidential suites....never seen that in an hotel before....hope to score one...

Have a great day....
