Hi all,
If I miss/skip a segment of a normally-paid ticket, it can cancel out the rest of the ticket. Does this apply to award reservations too?
I'm on a mixed transatlantic US/*A saver award (ZRH-PIT-ZRH) with outbound on AC and return on US using US miles. My inbound connections are weird (ZRH-YYZ-PHL-PIT with a 8 hr layover in YYZ) so I'm thinking of simply driving YYZ-pittsburgh. If i don't use the YYZ-PHL-PIT segments, does it jeopardize the PIT-ZRH return?
I realize that I can call and make the ticket explicitly ZRH-YYZ and then PIT-ZRH but (1) i don't want to pay the 'change city' fee and (2) the extra segments are a good insurance policy in case my driving scheme falls through.
many thanks!
BS
p.s. Is it possible to use the US award but travel on a UA mileage plus number associated with the tickets? I'm *G through UA and would like to use the lounges ... the entrance police may get skeptical w/ a different ff number on my ticket and *G card.
