Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Cairns Airport Transportation

I will arrive CNS from NRT early a.m., before 6. I tried to get an answer
from my hotel, the Holiday Inn. They are not responding. What are my
transportation options to downtown, where the hotel is located. Is there
an airport shuttle bus operation or am I stuck with a taxi? Any ideas as
to price? And lastly, any recent experience with customs/immigration
there?

Sorry I cannot assist you with customs and immigration at CNS, but hopefully another FTer can.

Immigration is quick and easy. Customs however tends to be fairly strict and ask lots of questions if they think your itinerary looks at all odd (perhaps because they don't get that many international arrivals?).

I've always taken a cab - as it is fairly cheap due to the short distance from airport to downtown.
