Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Enterprise lot hours not equal to office hours

I had an Avis car reserved for a 3 day rental in ALB this month. I got an email from Enterprise offering an upgrade and low rates. I've got a good discount code for Avis but thought I'd look. I can save >$50 over 3 days so I looked at the hours for the station: 6:00 AM to 12:00 midnight. OK

After I book it, I get an email telling me I have to leave the car in a short term lot, with the ticket on the dashboard and keys in a dropbox if I bring it back before 7:00 AM! I have a 7:30 flight so I guess this applies to me.

I wish, if the return hours don't match the "office hours", they'd let you know before you make the reservation. I'm keeping it to save $50, but I'm annoyed.

how do i have to understand this:

After-Hours Return Service
The time you selected to return your vehicle is outside of our business hours at:

Here is how you can return your vehicle After Hours:

PLEASE RETURN CAR TO RENTAL LOT AND PLACE KEYS WITHIN THE DROP BOX LOCATED ON THE BUILDING. BILLING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY.

So, if I reserve till Sunday, I will have to pay for Monday, too? The charge on the reservation is less for a return on Sunday. How about insurances, which are higher than the rental price... Will they automatically charge the insurance for the extra day, too or can I do the insurance only till sunday? Sorry, I am not too familiar with car renting in the us and especially with enterprise...

Basically, the charges continue on the rental car until a rental agent actually checks it in. So yes, you will still be charged for the extra day of insurance as well. That's a pretty standard Enterprise policy.

At least in my case, there was a parking garage time-stamped ticket to indicate the time I officially abandoned the car.
