Qantas Frequent Flyer - World Cup spotting in QP
Spotted this morning in QP SYD T2 was a gaggle (is that the correct word for a group of noisy supporters?) of Scotland supporters awaiting a flight to Townsville (prior to the game tonight). Some in kilts, some with the "uniform" footy jumpers, some merry with the occasion and one guy snoring his head off and looking very worse for wear from what may well have been a big night. And the bar was not open either. It'll be a fun day in Townsville!
Any other spottings of interest?

I think they are everywhere - I was on SYD - CBR last week and had the whole Italian team on the plane - when we got off the plane in CBR, we had a heap of news media recording the "event".
og, perhaps a term that could be used is "clan", after all it's much more Scottish than gaggle...assuming they were wearing kilts, you'd be able to tell http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

While some may find it appealing, I find it scarring to imagine a bunch of kilt-wearing Scotsmen in a scrum... X-)

Reminds me of when I caught a FR (Ryanair) flight to PIK (Glasgow Prestwick) from Stansted. The incoming aircraft came from there and off trooped I'd say 20 or 30 Scots in FULL kits and regalia.. young blokes too... I don't know who they were or where they were headed, but it was indeed a sight (and sound!) experience as they passed....

I've finally worked out who the snoring Scotsman must have been...the one and only ajamieson - see his thread and profileRugby World Cup 2003 (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/003770.html).

Well well well. I didn't see any FT tags on the snoring Scotsman's bag. He was, however working on an incredible sore neck by the way his head had folded over to his shoulder! It was amusing for the T2 QP (small) crowd. No fellow countrymen were anywhere near him. Needless to say that after reading your link, QF WP, the comments fit the guy!
Please do some subtle interrogation and report back.

It wasn't me, I promise (although I did once fall asleep in similar dress in the BD lounge in DUB before getting politely told off by the loung attendant for snoring...)
SanDiego1K thank you for the picture, although perhaps it would be easier for FTers to recognise me in Australia if you rotated it by 90 degrees http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Well there's always FT spotting at a RWC game. See this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/003863.html).
We'll be there...Mrs QF WP in her Australian jersey, I'll be in my HKG 7's blue & white box striped short sleeve shirt.

"Gaggle" is the correct collective term for a group of umpires (also used as the collective term for a group of geese - not sure how the two are related. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif )
