anyone know if there's a site or whatever that shows release dates of movies they show on airlines? i really wanna know what movies they'll show on cx on june 2008. cause if its not great movies, i plan on bringing some other type of entertainment with me.

another question. i live about an hour away from JFK and our flight will depart at 10AM. when would be a good time to check-in?

and i wish they'd move cathay to a better terminal like 1 or 4. terminal 7 is kind of boring.

I don't think you can find out what CX is showing that far in advance.

Re: check-in, you can check-in online even if you're not in the Marco Polo Club, all you need is an e-ticket. So check in before you leave home.

You can see the entertainment info for the current month and the next month, so check sometime in May.

Check in online to buy yourself some time, but also plan to get there with enough time to spare. With JFK, you really have to take into account traffic, which during the NYC rush can be high in both directions. Technically you're going away from Manhattan so it shouldn't be too bad, but honestly you never know. I also live about an hour from JFK, over in NJ, but I've been to JFK enough times in my life to know that traffic is pretty unpredictable.

I agree with you on the terminals; Terminal 7 is quite boring. I have lounge access, so it's not too bad for me, but before that, yes, it was pretty mind-numbing. Bring a book to read or some work to do.

thanks guys for the help. since it was my parents who bought the ticket, im letting them decide if they wanna check in online or do it the old fashion way. but knowing them they would check in at the airport. oh well...

looks like we gotta leave extra early in the morning :(

Convince them to check in online. There's no harm in doing so. You can even go up to the check in counter and get your boarding pass there.

im also taking CX this June & its my first time taking CX with its new economy seat. in the AVOD, do they show movies from the previous month also?? I checked with the CX site and they're showing "I Am Legend" & "Jumper" in May 2008. I'm hoping they'll show it also in June. *crosses fingers*

how many movies can you choose from??

Some movies often roll-over from month to month - a bummer if you do a lot of long hauls! End of the month flights are for everything you skipped over uninterested in the first half of the month, does anyone else here dislike end of month flights for this reason? You're flipping through studio cx and you've either seen everything or intentionally not seen it because you don't want to, and you hope that something will pop out that you didn't see before...okay but that's besides the point. I can't say for sure what you saw on April will be there in June, but I definitely know that stuff rolls over on a month-to-month basis to annoy some of us and delight others.

Re: # of movies, about 35-55. Plenty of selection for all. The older movies are edited for the plane but the new releases show blood and guts (and sex) in all its glory.

im around 5'8"... would you say the new Y seats is comfortable for a guy my height? im reading alot of mixed reviews about the new non-reclining seat. some say its comfortable and some say that the new sliding down feature reduces leg room.

You may be alright. I am 178 and am marginal as the shell (of the seat in front) is hard.
