Air New Zealand Air Points - using other airline miles for upgrades

Well, hopefully if I'm correct z class is for upgrades and appears to be available lots of the time.

The next question is which *airlines can you use their miles on to upgrade?
Does it still book in z class?

I don't think Z class is for upgrades - more for discounted business fares.

I thought R class was the upgrade class, but its been such a long time since I've successfully used a Gold or GE complimentary upgrade that I've forgotten.

(and as a result am extremely tempted to jump ship to BD for earning on NZ, just waiting to see whether other *A status holders will get the new, improved NZ services when launched. Its certainly a much better earn/spend deal with BD)
