It just says 777-300, no ER in there. kchika Mar 31, 08, 7:11 am Yes - 777-300ER (77A) mkjr Apr 8, 08, 4:38 pm does Cathay have any 200ER three tanks? since I thought they had the longest range? i flew on the Cathay flight a month ago and it is the new cabin if you are on the 777. YVR Cockroach Apr 8, 08, 7:38 pm The 77Ws actually have slightly more stated range than the 772ERs. The GE90-115Bs proved to be more efficient than originally expected. Do note that CX does have 777-300s (launch customer?) which is essentially a stretched 777-200ER. CX_First Apr 8, 08, 10:46 pm Cathay Pacific never has B777-200ERs, the 777-300 is essentially a stretched 777-200. I'm actually surprised that the GE90-115Bs are more efficient than GE originally stated. By the way, does any one know what long-haul destination will be the next to have the 77Ws for Cathay Pacific? mkjr Apr 9, 08, 4:34 pm stupid me, i meant to say 200LR 3 fuel tanks.....http://www.boeing.com/commercial/777family/pf/pf_rc_london.html damn, that is some range YVR Cockroach Apr 9, 08, 4:48 pm I'm actually surprised that the GE90-115Bs are more efficient than GE originally stated. 3.6% better fuel burn than predicted. http://www.geae.com/aboutgeae/presscenter/ge90/ge90_20060717a.html YVR Cockroach Apr 9, 08, 4:54 pm Cathay Pacific never has B777-200ERs, the 777-300 is essentially a stretched 777-200. No, the 777-300s would have almost no range if it was merely a stretched 777-200! The thrust difference is some 15k lbs per engine + a 50 ton max. takeoff weight differential. The -300 is based on the -200IGW (Increased Gross Weight) which was later renamed the -200ER. The -200s (A market) have low MTOW (545k lbs) and low thrust engines mid-high 70k lbs while -200ERs and -300s have MTOWs in the 660k lb range and thrust around 90 k lbs. |
