I am in need of help to plan activities and travel- any recommendations? thx How long are you in Australia ? Been to Australia before? Australia is very big, so you can spend a lot if time traveling from one place to another What do like:- cities: beaches, outdoor activites, outback ?? June is mid winter, but a good time to visit the red centre & top end (Darwin) of Australia BKKROP Mar 30, 08, 5:13 pm i am planning a trip to Australia in June with wife and twin 18 year olds. I am in need of help to plan activities and travel- any recommendations? thx Melbourne will be a breeze for you, it's winter in Australia so it's cold, average day would be 15degrees showers and overcast with a southerly cold wind. the central city is compact and there are many shopping arcades to keep you out of the weather. tour companies will organise trips to the ocean road wineries and the snow fields for you, but if you would like to do it on your own the transport system is good and cheap. Food and wine are big in this part of the world, museums and galleries abound, but simple enjoyments like an hour ride on one of our old trams will give you as much delight. Inland to the regional "gold rush" cities take you back to the victorian archirtecture of the 1800's and the cities and towns are busting with colour and excitement. Australia is a vast continent, whilst it will be snowing in our neck of the woods the surfers and scuba divers will be out in the waters out from cairns and the whitsundays, whilst over in the west, it is usually a pleasant 20degrees under the trees down mrgaret river way, perfect for cracking a bottle of wine. You will absolutely love australia, it's best to pick the spot that's ideal for you, regards bkkrop |
