That's what I thought too. Not going to rack up too many miles at 1/2 mile per ticket. :confused:

That's what I thought. They do have what they call their "LargeSellers Program" which supposedly does reduce the seller's commissions to only 10%. I applied for the program about a month ago but was told that I didn't qualify because, "In order to qualify for the program, you must currently be using a Point of Sale System that allows you to upload large amounts of inventory quickly and efficiently to the site." Huh??

Anyway StubHub has a very good thing going, they effectively get a 25% commission on most sales - 15% paid by the seller and 10% paid by the buyer - so they are almost printing money. No inventory, very little overhead.

I just got whopping 16 UAL miles for spending $0.50 in buying 2 mets tickets.
Miles posted quick though.

$10 codes are obtainable when you take one of SU "popup surveys". Or you can goole for them. The $20 ones seem to be discontinued.

chichi: The last time I tried to use the $20 code was about 1130am Eastern time yesterday (it worked OK), however I've seen posts from people on other web sites saying basically the same thing as you. StubHub pulled the plug in the past two days on the Aug 28 code so if you haven't already entered the code# into your account you are out of luck. Unfortunately the code was posted openly several places on the internet - most notably on FatWallet - for all to see and thus SH ended the party early.

Hopefully I'll be getting a new $20 code for Sep in the coming weeks, if I do I'll post a new thread on the Spam forum where I'll PM it to you.

fwiw, this post was delayed because StubHub's wonky website didn't allow me to enter the code in my account. That glitch caused my PC to bypass that screen and instead went directly to the paid screen.

SH's customer service was pleasant enough but it took them weeks before they finally approved and issued me a $20 credit for that code I wasn't able to apply to my order to.

In the end, the fact that I got this purchase made my niece happy, gave me UA miles, a 5% AMEX discount and a $20 discount helps make that minor website annoyance a whole lot more bearable :D

BTW, I got down to the stadium a few weeks ago. It's very nice. I didn't know about your code then, I could have save about $50. The main level seats are very good and affordable. Now that the Bombers are playing better, the price may go up. It'll be worth it though.

Thanks for posting your success story. If you are going to buy from StubHub anyway you might as well use the code - and a cashback Discover Card if you have one via the shopdiscover portal. Just this afternoon someone bought $1K worth of tickets from me on StubHub, I know it's a longshot but I hope they had access to the above info and trimmed $150 - or at the least $100 if they didn't have a Discover.

PS: I've been getting lots of PM's from people asking for current $10 and $20 codes that were common this time last year. I haven't stumbled upon any of these codes since late last summer, I'm thinking SH finally figured out that people were using them to get MLB tix virtually for free. If you are in the market for tickets here's a potentially awesome deal that probably won't last for long: get 25% Bing cashback for purchases at StubHub. To find the needed bing cashback logo go to bing.com and type in "Stubhub bing".

I'd recommend that you be sure you good grasp of what you are doing before making a purchase. I've found the whole bing.com (formerly live.com) cashback program to be rather confusing but I've always gotten my appropriate cashbacks, it's saved me hundreds of dollars in the past year or so.
