Im looking to book some Air New Zealand flights for early next year. I normally fly into Auckland for the benifit of the 747, but if the A320's have PTV's I can fly straight into WLG or CHC.

When will the whole fleet be upgraded? I currently see a few 737's flying the BNE-AKL runs usally operated by A320's. Im presuming it will be completed by next year, just wanted to check.

All A320 and 767s are to be refited before the end of the year. Refit program starts with the 767s.

The refit is simply adding TVs to each seat, right?

They're not changing out the seats to have Business Premier like the 747s or 777s or any sort of lie-flat Biz seat, are they?

Apparently, they are getting rid of the Current Business Class on the A320's, and installing Premium Y. I think the 767 is getting Business Premier, cant remember though.

Latest i have hered is the A320s are keeping J class so are the 767s and will be the same seats are currently on board these aircraft. All 737s , 767s and 320s are getting the front zone on Y class pitch made to 36" for pax on full Y fares and FF.

BNE has 777s on some days. Just fly one of those?

As I Said before Smashley, I do usally fly the 747, or somtimes the 777. It is a daily service, but my final destination is BHE- not AKL, so its much less of a hassle to fly into CHC or WLG.

Just a few details/rumours I heard on this. Take with a grain of salt :)

- NZ's winter schedule is based on having 4 767s in service. One 767 will be done at a time and all should be completed by the time the 2008-9 summer schedule rolls around. First refit should begin in the next few weeks when the winter schedule comes into effect.

- At this stage Air NZ intends to keep the refitted 767s in service even after the 787s arrive.

- The refitted 767s may return to some Japan services, which are seeing light loads with the 777s.
