Many thanks to all Winter has arrived early for Melbourne, the electric blankets are on, and the doonas are out of storage, but coming from ARN, you might still find it quite refreshing. I have grown to love the BKK airport and find getting around it very easy. If you have a couple of hours to spare, and you are entitled to enter the lounges (flying F/C or *A), you will find showers in both and an assortment of drinks food and relaxing entertaining. If in Y, there's still plenty to see and do. Now there's no way I can remember where they are, but there are brilliant foot massage machines near the computers and the coffee shops. I took a group of wholesalers on a "tour" of the termonal about 6months ago and we spent 3hours checking it out from one end to the other. It is vast, so before you settle down somewhere, have a pretty good idea where your gate is. I enjoy flying with TG, so I am sure you will have a pleasant flight Be forewarned that the security before the gate departure lounge can sometimes be slow, so allow time for this. hgp has kindly advised us that Gin is cheaper in BKK than MEL, although it is so easy to buy as you exit the plane in Mel, and you don't have to lug it anboard and worry about it. As you exit at MEL, there is duty free, then passport control, followed by baggage collection then customs. It all takes about 30minutes. As you exit, taxis and buses are straight out the door opposite. If you are travelling domestic from Mel, proceed up the escalators on your left and right to the next floor. regards bkkrop mwh7199 Mar 30, 08, 9:37 am Thank you for your assistance, as I will be in C with *A then I look forward to checking out the lounges BHIL Mar 31, 08, 1:30 am Try to secure 1A or 1K on the ARN-BKK leg. I was in 1A last week on CPH-BKK and I enjoyed it a lot. There is a lot of space in this cabin and the private and exclusive feeling of sitting right in the nose of the 747 can not be beaten. It is the old F-class seat but it still makes a very nice fully flat C-seat on the Scandinavian routes. Even without AVOD I personally prefer the old F-seat over the new C-seat as I value comfort and space over in-flight entertainment. But you will get a chance to compare the two types of seats when you board the BKK-MEL leg. Enjoy your trip ;) |
