Air New Zealand Air Points - Problem with U.S.A. version of NZ site, and a TN codeshare question

Haven't received a reply from NZ about these two questions.

First, if on the United States NZ website how come PPT is not available as a destination? Lots of island destinations show up: Fiji, Cook Islands, etc. I don't know that it matters in terms of booking online via the U.S. site or not... but why the difference? I'm trying to look at AKL-PPT flights (nested in another trip). Is there any reason for a U.S. person to not book through the New Zealand version of the NZ site?

Second, NZ codeshares with TN for the AKL/PPT flight. Is there any way, when booking through NZ, to book the TN leg into First? If you go to the TN website and click on the First option for the TN leg, then it grays out the discounted Biz for the NZ leg, and forces you to buy the full fare Biz on NZ to go with the First leg on TN. The answer is probably "no" but I thought I would ask. Besides, I was looking for options through NZ, not through TN directly.

Thanks

Probably because the codeshare LAX-PPT is only available in conjunction with onward travel to NZ.

No option for first on the codeshare because NZ does not sell first.

I was actually looking for AKL-PPT. While I'm U.S. based it would be nested in another trip that already brings me to AKL. Is there any danger to a person in the U.S. booking via the New Zealand version of the website? I don't know if that can turn into headaches down the road if you're trying to tweak something or just have any problems.

The U.S. version of the NZ website can let me price out AKL-RAR... AKL-NAN... AKL-TBU... all various south pacific islands. Why can't I price out AKL-PPT?

Just use the NZ version of the website.

Good advice....:D

I've used the Aussie, Kiwi and US NZ sites - whichever was suited to the task at hand... never had a problem.
