Are there any small solutions for scanning business cards and small receipts? Something that could connect to a Blackberry would be ideal. I can't seem to find any solution online.

Does your Blackberry have a camera? If so, you could try ScanR (http://www.scanr.com/default.aspx)

Oh, and another option would be a scanner that can scan to memory cards, like the PlanOn Docupen RC800 (http://boardingarea.com/blogs/traveltechtalk/2008/01/30/planon-docupen-rc800-review/). You could make your scans and pop the MicroSD card into your Blackberry (if it's a recent model), then simply email the file.

The picture route is sort of what I was thinking. I don't see the benefit of ScanR. It seems all they do is convert the image to PDF. There are a few sites online that will do that for free. I guess I'll just take pictures of the things and access the Blackberry as a mass storage device.
