Travel Technology - Will AT&T Treo 680 Work with Prepaid SIM in Germany?

I'll be traveling to Germany and I'm planning to get a prepaid sim card once I get there.

The question is will my unlocked AT&T Treo 680 work with a prepaid sim?

Yes, it will work. I use with my unlocked Cingular/AT&T Treo 680 a prepaid SIM that I purchased from Vodaphone in Frankfurt, but those of other companies should work just as well.

If it's locked, no, it will not work.

Call AT&T or go into your local store and tell them you're going to Europe and want to use a local german sim while you're there. If you're more than 3-6 months into your contract they should do it right away.

Keep in mind that you won't get data service if you're using a pre-paid sim, only voice.
